DMACK Shod Fuchs Wins WRC Production Title

DMACK Shod Fuchs Wins WRC Production Title

DMACK driver Nicolas Fuchs has taken the first title in this year's FIA World Rally Championship after sealing a commanding victory in the Production Car Cup. The Peruvian dominated the series and, with five wins from the last five events, cannot be beaten with six rallies still left to run.

Fuchs, co-driven by Fernando Mussano, is the first driver from Peru to lift this title and accomplished the feat after a stunningly fast and consistent drive. He was second on snow in Sweden but then took dominant wins in Mexico, Portugal, Argentina, Greece and Italy - all using DMACK's DMG+2 gravel tyre.

South America is a key market for DMACK and it has supported 30-year-old Fuchs for the last three seasons. His victory seals an important title for DMACK, which has constantly performed well in the production category. DMACK took Production WRC victory on its very first world rally in Sweden 2010.

The tyre firm has locked out the Production Car Cup championship table with the top three places all currently filled by DMACK-equipped drivers.

Dick Cormack, DMACK motorsport director, said: "This is a great victory for Nicolas and DMACK after such a dominant performance over the last five rallies. His win is an important demonstration of just how well our gravel tyre performs - as well as being fast, it's also ultra reliable. It's helped Nicolas push for victories but has also got him through the tough conditions in places like Greece and Portugal

Nicolas Fuchs said: "This is a goal I always wanted since I started competing and I've been through a lot to achieve this. I'm excited and I have no words to describe how I feel. I thank all the people who have supported me. DMACK has played a very important role in our championship and I would like to thank them for the support."

The win by Fuchs is subject to confirmation by the FIA.
