DMACK’s Proven Gravel Package Ready For WRC Action

DMACK’s Proven Gravel Package Ready For WRC Action

After two winter events kicked off the 2018 FIA World Rally Championship, it’s time for DMACK to roll-out its well-established range of gravel tyres for round three of the series at Rally Mexico next week.

Winning stages on seven of the nine gravel rallies in 2017, DMACK’s tread patterns and gravel compounds have already proven their ability, helping to seal the firm’s first overall win at Wales Rally GB in November. Since then, the DMG+22 tyre for R5 cars has been upgraded even further.

2017 Performance
Despite the disadvantage of running first on the road after receiving a time penalty for an engine change, Elfyn Evans powered his Fiesta WRC to three stage victories in Mexico last year and finished ninth overall.

Tyre Overview
The DMG+2 tyre, nominated for WRC cars, returns for 2018 using the medium GH34 and soft GS84 compounds.

WRC2 and R5 cars will use the DMG+22, which also benefits from the same run-flat construction that was used in 2017 across the WRC car range. Compounds available are the hard GH44, which has been nominated for Mexico, and soft GS64.

Nominated Tyres
List 1 for R5 and WRC 2

Dick Cormack, DMACK managing director, said: “After two specialist winter events, we’ve got the first gravel rally of the season next weekend. DMACK gravel tyres have proven they can compete with the best throughout 2017, scoring fastest stage times on seven of the nine gravel rallies. We’ve made a few improvements to the WRC2 tyre, giving it the same run-flat construction as the WRC tyre, to edge the performance forward even further.”
